Are there any free softwares designed for writing books or keeping a journal on my computer – not online?

I want to keep my ideas organized but on my computer instead of a blog online. Something that would be more suitable would be a book writer of some sort that I could keep chapters and topics organized.
I found one. Well 2 but decided on one after trying them.

Theres many different note keepers availab.e Some even free. Do a search for journal freeware of something of the like.
Theres tons out there.
